A Message About: Altar Team Ministry

At St. Nick’s, our Altar team was formed and continued to grow from the time we first moved into our current Church site.  The Altar Team is responsible for setting up the altar with the linens, wine and eucharist for our 8:00 am and 9:30 am services as well as any other special services.  We also clear the altar after the service and take care of the linens.  Our team is diverse, with some members that are “Cradle Episcopalians” as well as others who are new to St. Nick’s and the Episcopal Church.  I love that our group is very supportive of one another and always willing to help each other.  For me, setting up the altar makes me feel like I’m a part of the service.  It has also helped me learn different aspects of why we do things the way we do.  Reverend Beth and Reverend Jennifer are always supportive in answering questions and working with us to come up with new procedures as things have evolved over the last few years.

We would love to invite anyone that is interested to join our team.  There are usually one or two members signed up for each service.  If you would like to just observe and learn more about what we do, just let us know.  We usually set up 20 to 30 minutes prior to the service, and then you will see us clearing up after the service.  Just drop by and we’d be happy to speak with you and let you assist.  If you have any other questions or are interested in participating, contact the office at (830)438-0261 or by email at parishcoord@stnickshillcountry.com
