Dear Friends,

You may have noticed on our social media that we have posted a verse from Psalm 119 this week. As a ministry offering we will be posting a verse a week. Jena, our family minister has shared that the focus for Holy Hangout and Kids JOY group on Sunday mornings will be learning how to use the bible. Even though this ministry has been created for our young people, in reality it helps all of us not matter our age.

Knowing bible verses and hiding them or holding them in our hearts, helps us to stay strong in the face of challenges and struggles. They are, companions on our journey that help us grow nearer to God. They are companions on our journey that guide us as we follow in the footsteps of Jesus.

Here are some suggestions from Jena on how to remember your favorite verses –

• Write the verse on your mirror – you will see it everyday
• Write the verse and cut it up like a puzzle – put it back together. As you put it back together take out the last word and guess the verse. Keep repeating taking out words.
• Turn the verse into a song and sing it in the car.
• Turn the verse into a work of art.
• Look up the verse in your bible and highlight it once you have memorized it.

I am sure you have ideas on how to memorize scripture to hold in your heart. Jena and I would love to hear your ideas. We are always praying that God will lead us to grow in faith and love. We pray also that this little ministry offering will help us all to grow in knowledge too.
