New (Program) Year – Yay! – St. Nick’s News Sept. 5, 2025

Full St. Nick’s News for September 5, 2025

Dear Friends,

As we turn the corner into September, I am reminded how each new season in the life of our church brings fresh opportunities to serve, learn, and grow together. This month is no exception—our calendar is full of ways to roll up our sleeves, deepen our faith, and celebrate the gift of community.

We begin with our Workday on Saturday, September 6 (8–11am). Many hands truly do make light work, and these mornings are not only about caring for our building and grounds but also about the joy of laughter, coffee, breakfast tacos and shared purpose – loving our church – the space and the people.

On Sunday, September 7, we embrace two important rhythms of our life together: the Bishop’s Committee (11–12:45pm) as we continue discerning God’s vision for St. Nick’s, and Community of Hope International (COHI) training (11–1pm), a 14-week journey in learning to listen, pray, and care for others as Christ does. Please keep our new trainees in your prayers as they begin this meaningful work.

The month continues with celebration and fellowship. On Saturday, September 13 at 6:30pm, our Musik in the Park event features a special DUO (Do Unto Others) Teens Dinner with Beth and Jeremy—a chance for our teens to share food, laughter, and encouragement under the evening sky. Come and hang out with us at Musik in the Park, help with fun activities around the theme of animals, listen to good music and have dinner – on us! The next morning, Sunday, September 14, we’ll host a Newcomer’s Brunch, a warm welcome for those new to our community, complete with good food and conversation. If you want to join us RSVP to Rev. Beth at revbeth@stnickshillcountry.org. Anyone who wants to learn more about our community is totally welcome to join! But please RSVP!

Later in the month, on Thursday, September 25 at 6pm, our Prayer Group will gather for dinner and a prayer service, reminding us that prayer is the heartbeat of our parish life. Finally, we close the month with the start of Youth Confirmation Class on Sunday, September 28 at 6:00pm via Zoom, an eight-week journey of exploring faith and identity, culminating in Confirmation this fall. All teens 6th grade on up are invited to join. High Schoolers can do the zoom gathering or join in person on Wednesdays from 7pm to 8pm in the church offices.

Each of these moments—whether work or worship, fellowship or formation—shapes us into the Body of Christ. I hope you will mark your calendars, join us when you can, and carry with you the truth that here at St. Nick’s, everyone is welcome, everyone is loved, everyone is empowered, and everyone belongs. And… gratefully there is something for everyone here!

God’s Peace, Love, and Blessings,
Beth+
