You are invited to join us in a 5K4JESUS this year. Not an actual run (although we may join together to run for Provisions again) but a faith filled run to love and serve Jesus, one another and our community. We are asking that we to commit to tracking our hours of giving to St. Nick’s and the various causes and ministries in our lives. August 2024 through the end of May 2025, together, as a community of faith, as the family of God, we will track our hours and celebrate when we get to 5,000 hours for Jesus.

If 100 people from our community offer 1 hour a week, we will meet the goal of 5,000 hours. Most of us are already serving our communities and our church. Many of you volunteer as readers, greeters, hospitality hosts, workday crew, offertory counters, help with special events, and champion ministries and events. When you serve the church, you are loving God and one another. In addition, and more importantly, many of you are also serving our community in significant ways. You are teaching ESL and GED and Citizenship Classes. You are volunteering your time at food banks, hospitals, and hospice organizations. You are helping at animal shelters, running actual 5 or 10Ks for good causes, and participating with local non-profits to help them fulfill their mission. When you serve your community, you are loving God and one another.

Hopefully this does not sound too daunting to you. We are making it easy for you. You can fill out a form at church and pop it in the offertory plate on the Welcome table at church or you can fill out a form online on our website. We will track the activities for you. We also have a Ministry Booklet of our offerings here at St. Nick’s and outreach opportunities in our local community. If you have a non-profit you think should be added to our list, please let me know. This list and ministry booklet is a work in progress – just like all of us at St. Nick’s!

We are called… we are sent… to share the love of Jesus we have found in and through one another at St. Nick’s. We hope you will join us in this fun endeavor of sharing our faith, love, and hope with one another and our neighbors.

As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact Rev. Beth either at Church on Sunday, on her cell at 214-213-0739 or through her email at revbeth@stnickshillcountry.org.
