Dear Friends,
Over the next couple of weeks we have some joy-filled and inspiring events to warm your heart while the weather is getting colder and colder! See what I did there??? Feel free to groan at me on Sunday. đ
Tomorrow morning you can unleash your creativity and connect with your fellow parishioners at our Crafty Crew gathering on Saturday, January 18, from 9 AM to 11 AM! Itâs the perfect time to craft, chat, and share some laughs. Later that day, from 12 PM to 2 PM, Rev. Ann Fraser and the Good News Garden Team invite you to dig deep into the spiritual significance of rest and Sabbath at our Gardening Workshop. Together, we will plant new seedlings and cultivate our understanding of the importance of Sabbath rest for us and the earth. We will share in a lunch by Maggie Mae’s and plant seedlings – all you need to bring is your green thumbs – all of this is free to you and our neighbors.
Next weekend, on Saturday, January 25, roll up your sleeves for our Church Workday from 8 AM to 11 AM, where there are tasks suitable for all ages and skill levelsâbecause every helping hand makes a difference!
Finally, donât miss our Annual Meeting on Sunday, January 26, from 8:55 AM to 10 AM, where weâll share exciting updates, highlight our ministry achievements, and discuss the future plans of our beloved church community. Join us for worship at 8 AM and 10:15 AM as well.
Please do make every effort to be at our meeting on the 26th. The annual meeting is an important time where we come together to learn about St. Nick’s, connect with one another, celebrate what God is doing in our lives and figure out where weâre headed next.
Pastor and author, Barbara Brown Taylor puts it well: âThe only real difference between churches is not their worship style, or the age of their buildings, or the size of their budgets. It is whether they are places where people are being changed by the love of Christ.â Thatâs what weâre all about at St. Nick’s. The annual meeting lets us reflect on how the love of Christ has shaped us through our ministries, relationships, and our impact on the community. This isnât just a sit-and-listen kind of gathering. Itâs a lively moment to look at each other and say, âYes, weâre in this together and God is so incredibly good and faithful!â Weâll celebrate our wins, acknowledge our challenges, and make bold plans for what comes next. This is one of the many ways we keep our worship, outreach, and relationships grounded in the vibrant love of God.
I also want to invite you to bring a snack or brunch type item to share. It is a much earlier morning for many and food always makes mornings better! We will also have a children’s activity in the Sunday School/Children’s Chapel for children 3yrs to 5th grade.
I always love our time together on Sundays and can’t wait for our annual meeting where we will celebrate our ministries, learn about them, dream big bold dreams for God, and grow together as the body of Christ – the church!
God’s Peace, Love, and Blessings,
Beth+
