Full St. Nick’s News for September 1, 2023

Dear friends,

I am so looking forward to seeing you Sunday in worship – most especially our Outdoor Worship folks! We had a great time last Sunday when we blessed backpacks and celebrated our life together. Thank you to Billy and Stacey Hunt, Billy and Kristina Hunt, Brittany Hunt and Janice Miller for all your hard work and making our celebration so fun and joyful!

This week we begin our program year and resume our Outdoor Worship. Here is a weekly schedule of activities and offerings to God. I hope you will consider coming to some of the many offerings. If we do not have what you are hoping for, talk to me about starting a small group and let’s see how God is calling you to share your gifts and talents with your church family this new year.

Weekly Schedule

Sunday Worship:

8:30am Outdoors (unless snowing, raining, or wind-chill below freezing – then meet in the Sunday School Room)

9:30am Indoors also with Live Stream on Facebook, Youtube, Website, Twitch

After 9:30am Worship – Many Sundays have classes, meetings, and youth group gatherings – look for those dates in our newsletters and on our social media pages.

Tuesday:

6pm Bible Study on the Gospels – taught by Rev. Beth (Gospel of Matthew from September 6^th – November 28^th.  Gospel of Mark begins December 5th)

Wednesday:

4:30pm Holy Hangout for Youth – Youth Group Bible Study led by Rev. Beth

4:30pm Holy Hangout – Children Formation led by Mrs. Jena

5:30pm Dinner Church – Different Themes for different days

Thursday:

11:00 am Healing Eucharist

Noon – Lunch and Learn with Rev. Beth – everyone is welcome

Friday:  

Rev. Beth’s day off – is available for pastoral emergencies at 214-213-0739.

Along with our weekly formation offerings we also have special events in order to grow as followers of Jesus.

Upcoming Events

September 9^th – Church Workday at St. Nick’s 8am – 11am (all ages welcome)

September 10^th – Brainstorm Session on the Community Garden after 9:30am Worship- Sunday in the School Room

September 13th – Meeting at the end of Dinner Church to share information on St. Nicholas, the Summer survey, and future plans.

September 16^th – Enneagram Workshop 9am to 3pm at St. Nick’s (Teen and Adults welcome but must RSVP with Rev. Beth or Kathie Jinks for lunch orders)

September 16^th – Musik in the Park at 6:30pm at Bulverde Community Park (all ages welcome to help)

September 17^th – Parent (Children and Youth) Meeting after 9:30am Worship in sanctuary

September 17^th – Youth Group – T-Shirt Decorating Day after 9:30am Worship (11:00-1:00) in the Sunday School Room

September 22nd – Women’s Gathering at Montana’s House

September 23^rd – Prayer Ministry Workshop 9:30am to noon at St. Nick’s in the sanctuary (all ages welcome to come and help with our prayer ministry gifts)

September 24^th – Art and Faith Formation Sunday – all age formation Stained Glass Painting Project after the 9:30am worship in the sanctuary

You can pick up a paper copy of our yearly schedule on the Greeters table at St. Nick’s. Our website is also being updated to reflect these offerings.

I’m looking forward to this new year of sharing God’s love with one another and our community. I’m looking forward to growing in faith together as we follow Jesus and embrace this beautiful and generous life God has given us.
