Community of Hope International Info Meeting
Over 30 years ago, the Community of Hope International (COHI) was born out of a simple but powerful idea: everyday people—teachers, parents, nurses, accountants, and artists—can be trained to offer meaningful spiritual care.
Since then, COHI has equipped laypeople across the Diocese of West Texas and beyond to serve as pastoral caregivers in hospitals, homes, prisons, and congregations. The training covers vital topics like grief, listening, family systems, caregiver wellness, and spiritual practices. After completing the series, participants discern their own unique calling and choose where to serve.
The journey doesn’t end with training. Members gather regularly in a Circle of Care—a supportive community that offers ongoing encouragement and spiritual growth.
We’re excited to announce that St. Nicholas Hill Country Episcopal Church will be launching its own Community of Hope training and Circle of Care soon! If you feel called to bring compassion, presence, and peace to those in need, this might be for you.
