Thank you for a joyous celebration last Sunday! What a great day. The Holy Spirit’s presence was palpable and your joyous and loving presence was a gift to me and our bishop.
We began the process of becoming a mission church in the Diocese of West Texas by signing the Petition. As I shared on Sunday, this is the beginning step, we have some paperwork to fill out to help the diocese and the proper committees know of our intentions and plans for the future. This is, an exciting time in the life of our church!
It is also an exciting month in and few weeks til Christmas in the life of our church. We have wonderful offerings coming up. I hope you will take advantage of the worship events and time set apart to serve and love God and our neighbors.

We are a vibrant community of faith! And I rejoice in all that God is doing in, with, for, and through us!!!
This Sunday is Gaudete Sunday or Joy Sunday. Gaudete means rejoice. This coming Sunday, the 3rd Sunday in Advent we set aside time and space to especially joyful for all that God is doing and all that God will continue to do as we anticipate the birth f our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. On this Sunday we light the rose colored candle and sing songs of joy.
I commend to you our reading from Philippians for this week.
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
This is a good reminder for us – the Lord is near. The Lord is in our hearts, at our church, in our world, all over our holy scriptures, on our lips in the songs we sing, and in the love we share with one another and the world.
This coming Sunday, we will be mindful of the gift of joy God gives us in that God rejoices in us. God is our biggest cheerleader. God is the one, we can’t see but who is most certainly on the sideline rooting for us and hyping us up to remember that he is with us in the person of Jesus and will guard our hearts and our minds.
I am looking forward to another joyous and blessed Sunday with you. See you at 8 or 9:30am. Also, remember, any overflow parking can go to the Vine in the Village Parking lot. See you soon!
God’s Peace, Love, and Blessings,
Beth+
