Full St. Nick’s News for August 25, 2023
Dear friends,
I am so often drawn to praying this verse from Ephesians 3:20-21. As a reminder it says, “Glory to God whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine: Glory to him from generation to generation in the church, and in Christ Jesus for ever and ever. Amen.” Using this scripture I give God thanks for you, my church community and for the power at work in God through Jesus.
This Sunday we are coming together as a church community to give thanks to God and to celebrate two years in our space. God has been mighty faithful to us as we have not only survived the height of COVID but also thrived – growing in number, in faith, and in love of one another and God. God has blessed us with our church space and the beauty of caring for our neighbors and community. God has blessed us with growing friendships with Jesus and with one another.
We are also celebrating the work God has given us by blessing backpacks, and workbags, teachers, students, and families as the new school year begins.
We have a fun day planned! We will have our worship together at 9:30 and then after we will have hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, and popsicles. There will be water games (for kids of all ages) – including a splash booth where you can splash Beth or Jeremy (or other brave souls) and donate to St. Nick’s. We also have yard games for those who don’t want to get wet and the safety of watching from the sanctuary.
Don’t forget to wear your sandals, bring beach towels, swim suits or clothes that can get wet. Also don’t forget your sunscreen.
Feel free to bring your favorite soda, juice, tea, lemonade or water. What we don’t use on Sunday we will use for Dinner Church and following Sundays.
As always you can invite family, friends, and neighbors to join us for worship and the celebration after. Can’t wait to see you…
God’s Peace, Love, and Blessings,
Beth+
